As with everything she cooked, it tasted fantastic. As soon as I walked into the bedroom, her eyes found me, and she broke out in a brilliant grin. She was eyeing me as she threw out that last one, and we stared at each other in silence for several beats. I watched it roll across the green roughly ten feet before sinking into the hole. “No,” Astrid said, shaking her head. “Oh,” Astrid said, “I would send them all away. I think you could also be good for me.”
My face heated at the compliment, and I had to look away. So what’s changed? “They feel good, but I really love men too much.” When I looked back at her, she broke out in a grin. On the one hand, I had a hard time believing that was what she was actually suggesting.
